Katie Killen is a NLS volunteer intern. Katie is a law student at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She worked in local government for seven years prior to law school, most recently as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Shawnee, Kansas. Some of her background includes legislative affairs work at the state level, sustainability initiatives for the City of Shawnee and the Kansas City region, and neighborhood planning programs.
Katie received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Rockhurst University in Economics and Political Science and her Masters of Public Administration from the University of Kansas.
Katie hopes to work in public policy and community development after finishing her law degree and is excited to have the opportunity to work for Neighborhood Legal Support.
